Media and Information Literacy University Network of India (MILUNI)

 

Under the UNESCO-facilitated Global Alliance for Partnerships on Media and Information Literacy (GAPMIL) Action Plan, regional and national initiatives on Media and Information Literacy are to be set up. Media and Information Literacy University Network of India (MILUNI) is an effort in this direction. This was formed with the support of UNESCO in 2014.  After the UNESCO-Supported Capacity Building Workshop on Media and Information Literacy for Youth and Youth-led Organizations, the membership of MILUNI would be expanded to 15 members. Activities

Sponsored by UNESCO, and led by Punjabi University, Patiala and organized by FORMedia, MILUNI and Uttarakhand Open University, MILUNI conducted a National Consultation Meeting on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Policy and Strategy during 11-13 November 2014 at India International Centre, New Delhi.

 

A position paper on MIL was developed after the consultation meeting. It is being revised in consultation with other stakeholders.
