Dr. Davinder Kumar Madaan is Professor of Economics & Head, School of Social Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala, India. He is 1st Class M.A., Ph.D. (Economics) with experience of more than 30 years in research/teaching, 13 years in Academic Administration, and 12 years as Professor. He worked on various academic and administrative positions at Punjabi University, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Government of Madhya Pradesh, and Ministry of External Affairs’ Project on ‘South and Central Asia’ at CRRID, Chandigarh. His area of research is International Economic relations, particularly South Asia; and development economics. His publications include 4 Books and 91 Research Papers/Articles. He presented Research Papers in 115 International/National Conferences. He guided many Ph.D. and M.Phil students. He completed 4 Research Projects including The World Bank’s Minor Project on “India and Her Neighbours”, The Asia Foundation’s Project on “Understanding Non-Tariff Trade Barriers between India and Pakistan”, and ICSSR’s Project on “Trade Relations among BIMSTEC Countries”. Currently, he is doing project of National Highways Authority of India on “Development of Phase 1 - Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway in Haryana and Punjab States”. He visited China, Indonesia, Thailand, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka for academic purposes. He acted as Resource Person/Expert in many International/National Conferences and Examinership in the leading universities of India and abroad. Currently, he is Secretary, Indian Economic Association (IEA). He is also Honorary Secretary, Patiala Branch of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA).

Late Professor S.S. Tiwana was the founder Head of the School of Social Sciences, Punjabi University, Patiala. He was the Dean Academic Affairs; and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences.He headed the Department of Public Administration, Punjabi University, Patiala, as Professor and Head for nine years. He also served Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. He had an experience of about 35+ years in teaching and research, and 10+ years in Academic Administration.He guided research to 14 Ph.D. and 50 M.Phil students.He was Vice-President of Indian Public Administration Association and Indian Political Science Association.His area of research included Centre-State Relations, Indian Federalism and weaker sections such as scheduled caste, scheduled tribes, women, and children.He contributed more than 100 research papers in different Journals of National and International repute and in edited books. He presented research papers in more than 120 National Seminars and Conferences. He acted as Chairperson/Key Speaker/Rapporteur in many International/National Conferences.
