Mock Placement Drive

Majority of the students in the Engineering department of Punjabi University are focused on getting an on campus placement. But it gets really difficult for them when the interviews start. Most of these students don't have any experience on how to give a formal interview or even participate in a group discussion.
Most students get nervous and aren't fully able to present themselves in front of an interviewer. This lack of experience in communication prevents many students from showing the companies their full potential and hence as a result, they don't get placed.
EDC recognized this problem and with guidance from the professionals decided to deal with it. We conducted a Mock placement drive.
This Drive included mock interviews and workshops on improving communication skills.
Aptitude tests were conducted on the first day to help student acknowledge where they lack theoretically. These tests were followed by a couple of workshops on how to interact with your interviewer. The Do's and Don'ts were clearly stated by the professionals during the workshops. Students were further guided on their communication skills and the things to avoid during the interview.
Finally, mock Interviews were conducted. Students were given exposure to a real time interview. They were asked series of questions, which lasted from 10 to 15 minutes for an individual. At the end of the interview a proper feedback with the strengths and setbacks was detailed to the student. There were around 380 students of every year and every stream.
The techniques to improve the shortcomings of every student were guided by the professionals.
EDC primarily focuses on helping the students improve in every aspect in their shorty up- coming professional life. The regular drives, workshops and seminars are 100% focused on the skills that students are lacking or need improving.
